Who to contact in an emergency

About the advice line

The advice line is available for free to all special guardians living in Buckinghamshire. We provide support directly to parents and children living in special guardianship care.

If you are thinking about becoming a Special Guardian or in the process of applying to become one, you can get advice and support from the Connected Persons Team.

How it works

When you contact the team, you will speak to an experienced member of staff whose role is dedicated to supporting Special Guardians and their families.

They will listen to your situation, explain the options available to you and go through next steps and how long things might take.

If you can’t get through to the advice line or call out of hours, please leave a message and we will contact you back as soon as possible.

Emergencies

If you have an urgent issue or you feel like you or the child you care for is in immediate danger, find services on our emergencies page.

I was really nervous about calling and put it off several times, but I felt such a sense of relief when I finally spoke to the support team. I only wish I’d done it sooner.
